Ripstik Caster

We bought a Ripstik Caster board for our daughter's birthday. She got the hang of using it very quickly unlike her 50 year old father.

IKEA Ektorp Corner Sofa 2+2

We decided to get a sectional sofa to put in our family room. After much research we picked the IKEA Ektorp Corner Sofa 2+2. We drove to the IKEA in Stoughton, MA to check it out. It was perfect.
The next day I rented a U-Haul Cargo Van and headed back up to Stoughton. I had already gotten the measurements of the boxes so I knew the van would "fit the bill". The time window for the van was 4 hours so I had to hustle.

At IKEA I went upstairs to the furniture department and told the associate at the computer terminals that I wanted to get the Corner Sofa 2+2 in white. He checked and the frame was in stock but the Blekinge White cover was not. Made a quick call to my wife and she said how about the Svanby Beige? This was in stock @ + $200.00 & dry clean only. Nice material and color so it was worth it. The associate gave me the printout of the order and I then headed back downstairs to pay at the checkout.

Next up: Wait at the Furniture Pick-Up area until my number was called.

After 20 mins I could see the fork lift in the warehouse lower a very long box onto a  dolly. Then an associate started to wheel it slowly to the front. Visions of how this humongous box would fit into the back of the van were spinning in my head. The bell rang and my number was announced. At closer inspection I could see that it was actually three boxes shrink-wrapped together! I could split them up and that would be easier to load into the van.

I then had to guide this very heavily loaded dolly into the elevator to make my way to the garage to where the van was parked.

Time to split up the boxes from the shrink-wrap and haul them into the U-Haul.

Drove home and unloaded, and then returned the van.

Time now for the setup in which the whole family got involved. I got so involved with the putting together of the sofa that I forgot to take pictures of "what" got bolted onto "what".

My wife and daughters had fun putting the covers on the pillows and frame.

Our puppy Martha could not resist a closer inspection!
